There are consequences that always follow bad deeds that people do all the time

posted on 20 October 2011

Bad things are happening to my step father and it is about time because he is a very unpleasant man. I do not like the man at all. He cheats on my mother all the time and I tried telling her once I broke her heart because she is too much in to him. He makes a lot of money from his business and the working environment for his employers is not good. There was a time I was there trying to do a school paper that required us to shadow our fathers at work and an employee of his got electrocuted and my step father did not even give a hoot. He did not even cover the expenses. When it comes to electrical inspection and testing, he hires an electrician whom he pays to keep his mouth shut about the status of his company and this is what harms his employees all the time. When he was found out, he started being investigated and many employees were encouraged to sue him because he did not offer a safe working environment and they did exactly that.

They fail to realize that there are many factors that can influence electrician rates. Like for example: the rate depends on the degree of the work. For extensive work that includes diggings and staying out in the hot sun is different from a simple installation of an electrical fixture. The rate also depends on the season. Calling during the busiest time of the year can be a little expensive than usual. Another thing that can influence electrician rates is time line. You will be paying more for rush job or for emergency situations that requires speedy response. And lastly, the price is also different in every state. Basically, you do not get the same quote with your neighbors or friends because there are different scenarios that affect electrician rates. Fan installation factors you should know of

posted on 27 June 2011

Fan installation has certain factors you should remember of and here we are to tell you all about it 1. Never go in for fan installation with motors that have an outer cover which is thin. You wouldn’t have the pleasure of enjoying the breeze sans the sounds that rattle. 2. The more the pitch of the fan is, the better would be the output, so better check this and then think of getting the fan installation done at home. 3. Some fans have in-built lights these days, before getting onto fan installation think if these lights are sufficient to show you around your room. 4. Decide on the fan size you would need before you start with fan installation. This would be directly proportional to the room size you live in. 5. Always mount a fan at least eight feet from the level of the floor, not higher than that or lower than that. Remember to keep this in mind before starting with fan installation or else you may not enjoy the breeze at all.

Antique French Glass Demijohns

posted on 16 May 2011

Antique French glass demijohns, and carboys, are very pretty items. Many of these date back to the end of the 1880s, or even earlier. These antique demijohns would have been hand blown by a glass blower, and their original purpose would have been to carry liquids of various kinds. Antique glass demijohns are essentially large glass bottles, which would have originally been covered in a wickerwork surround to ensure no breakages during transport. Demijohns were used to transport everything from olive oil to brandy to cider to beer. And of course, in France, wine! Today, many of the demijohns have lost their original wickerwork surrounds, which have long since rotted away through time, leaving beautiful spherical glass bottles in various sizes and colours. These are very popular today as interior decorations, and look especially charming when arranged in groups of different colours and sizes. Carboys tend to describe the very large bottles and demijohns the smaller versions. In France they are known as 'bonbonieres'.

Finishing My Kitchen to Increase Value and Make for an Easy Sale

posted on 1 March 2011

I'm planning on finishing my kitchen renovation I started two years ago. Since then I'd hardly touched the kitchen project - in fact, the only DIY work I'd done in those 2 years was to erect some instant awnings in the garden! So I must face this kitchen redesign again. I'd like to add a glass tile backsplash. It would coordinate with the colors of the new floor tile that runs through the kitchen, dining area, and sun room. I'd also like to remove the laminate counter tops and put in Silkstone Granite counters to add elegance. The cupboards will be restained and sealed with a low luster finish. New lighting, under the counter tops, would brighten the overall kitchen and show off the sparkle of the new glass tiles. The old flourescent lighting fixture in the middle of the ceiling would be replaced with a more contemporary one that gives off better lighting. Currently there is a short counter and cabinet next to my pantry. This counter would benefit from additional lighting and the addition of an electrical outlet. This would definitely make this space alot more useful. With these final additions, I'd have a kitchen any potential buyer would be proud of.

Adding Colours and Dimension to a Drab Yard

posted on 3 January 2011

My back yard is really boring and even though the grass grows great it has too many small hills and dips for practical use. I do like hanging out here though, and often put up one of those EZ up gazebos when the sun shines. Still, it needs some work, does my back yard! I want to bring some top soil in, level it out, and then replant the grass. Once the new grass has grown I want to build a brick patio that connects to a walkway that will run to the back stairs. I want the walkway to also be made of brick and I will have flower beds running down the length of it. I want to put a shade tent up on the patio and have my bamboo lawn furniture under it. The back yard is fenced in but I hate the fence, so after I swap it out for bamboo screening I will also plant flower beds along the back wall and place some rhododendrons randomly through out the yard. These will add color and dimension the yard needs badly.

Hot Summer Days in the Back of My Country Home

posted on 29 December 2010

Nothing is better then a hot summer's day in the back yard of my country home. Sitting in a Muskoka chair, with a drink near to my side. Most of the time I sit not thinking about a thing, no worries, no cares and no responsibilities. I'm retired now, and used to work hard on slating and tiling in my line of work - now I'm happy to do nothing at all! Every once and while a nice breeze cuts through the trees and awakens me from my daze, as if to remind me to soak in all the beauty around me. Only then do I notice again the clear blue skies, with the occasional big bird flying over head. The green trees that border my property, swaying back and forth like tide of an ocean coming in and out and the warmth of the sun on my skin. Sometimes I wonder why my mind would ever leave this place while here, to travel so far away. Maybe, it doesn't leave rather, it just accepts the beauty and lets me just live in the moment.
